The Asamankese circuit court has sentenced Daniel Kofi Sika to 8years in prison for defiling a 13 year-old girl.
Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Peter Azigi told the court presided over by Justice Ayitey Armah Tetteh, that the victim is a class four pupil who resided with the suspect at Asamankese.
He narrated that the victim left home for school on 29th November, 2017 at around 7am and did not return until 5pm. A complaint was lodged with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service when a search of the area yielded no results.
The victim is said to have returned later and told her mum she visited a friend’s house where the accused; Daniel Kofi Sika forcefully had sex with her.
The complainant, who is also the father of the victim, assisted by some Police Officers arrested and brought the suspect to the Police station.
A Police medical form was issued for examination. The suspect however, denied the offence.
