The Mpasatia Senior High Technical School in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region is appealing for help after it was left without a roof after a rainstorm.

The storm which occurred around 5p.m Thursday, swept through a number of classrooms and a girls’ dormitory block leaving over three-hundred students stranded.

A senior house mistress whose bungalow was hit by the rain had to shelter at a colleague’s house. There was however no casualty.

Headmistress of the school, Ellen Takyi Mensah told ghanagong.com the situation could affect academic activities in the coming days.

She said all relevant authorities have been informed of the development including the District Chief Executive and District Education Director.

For now, the girls in the affected dormitories have been asked to join their colleagues in other dormitories while a solution is found to the problem. The Senior House mistress is also seeking shelter at a colleagues bungalow.

Headmistress Ellen Takyi Mensah prays help comes quickly so academic activities return to normal.
