It seems Bonwire is yet to see the largesse of the Nana-Addo led NPP government. Construction of Bonwire town roads is ongoing whiles streetlights are set to be installed in the town, known for the production of kente.

Parliamentary Candidate for the Ejisu Constituency; Dr. John Kumah on a campaign tour of the area encouraged the people to vote massively for the NPP in order to consolidate the gains made so far in the area.

He reminded the people of the free SHS policy which has reduced the burden of many and granted many the opportunity of having Senior High School Education. He also informed them that their wards’ education will not end at the Senior High School level since the government has put in place measures to assist the students with interest-free loans to enable them go through tertiary education.

John Kumah, who is also a lawyer, promised to see to the swift construction of the kente museum promised them and added that he has been assigned to oversee the setting up of a yarn factory for kente weavers in the area. “Bonwire will soon get a yarn factory”, he assured them.

As though that were not enough, he hinted that he is already liaising with the Exim bank Ghana to help set up a kente village at Bonwire to boost tourism as well as the patronage of the kente. He explained that the initiative will ensure tourists are brought to the area every month to have first-hand experience on kente processing.

Kente is the mainstay of the people of Bonwire.

“This year is the year of roads and Bonwire is not being left out. When I become MP, you will get more. No project will be left uncompleted” he assured them.

He also revealed that an amount of 330 million dollars have been obtained by the President for the Boankra inland port project; a project he believes will benefit the people of the area as well.

He mentioned that he has secured 30 streetlights for the Bonwire township and promised that more will be added if need be.

He assured them that the area will see rapid development when he is made Member of Parliament and reminded them that Nana Akufo Addo is number 1 on the Presidential ballot paper just as he is also number 1 on the Parliamentary ballot paper. He hinted that there is a special reward for constituencies that will reward the NPP with hundred percent of their votes.

The Ejisu Constituency as well as the constituency’s Parliamentary candidate seem to hold a special place in the agenda of the government. The second lady was in the constituency earlier this week. The first lady is also touring the constituency today with the Parliamentary Candidate.
