About 10 students who were among over 700 demonstrating for the removal of their headmaster have been hospitalized after they sustained injuries.

The students from Gyaama Pensan Senior High School in the Ashanti region say their headmaster has not helped the school’s academic performance since taking office.

They say the straw that broke the camel’s back was an assault on one of the students by their core mathematics teacher this Sunday during dining. The teacher’s action they explain provoked them.

To this end, the students have destroyed school property including the headmaster’s bungalow and the school’s assembly hall.

They say the will burn the school should the headmaster;Kwadwo Boakye Yiadom, set foot on the campus.
