A 32 year-old man is in police grips for fraud and possession of what is suspected to be fake Cedi notes.
ghanagong.com’s Police sources say the suspect; Charles Mensah was arrested and brought to the Police by one Isaac Afodour on 5th February, 2019 around 12:40PM for fraud.
When a search was conducted on him, six Ghana Cedi notes in GHC5 denominations suspected to be fake cedi notes were found on him.
A further search of the suspect’s room at Asuofia Akyiase revealed sixty-three notes which were retrieved by the Police. Our sources say 15 of the notes bore the serial number AH5077710, 16 notes with serial number AK9415150, 15 notes with serial number AL2973649, and 17 notes with serial number AE2492443.
The suspect failed to disclose the source of the notes and has been detained.
The suspected notes have also been retained as exhibit.
