Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has advised the party’s Ashanti Regional Women’s wing to carefully search for true NDC men to get married to when they are due.

According to him, this will help prevent the spate of defections that has hit the party in recent times.

Addressing the wing last Sunday in Kumasi where the women unanimously endorsed the candidature of John Mahama as their preferred choice of flag-bearer, the NDC scribe noted those men who defect from the party even when they are married to NDC women were not true blooded lovers of the umbrella.

He stressed that there were dedicated NDC men out there waiting to get married and therefore asked the women to be vigilant to identify same.

‘’We can grow our strength here in Ashanti if you as women and ladies search for the right NDC guys to marry so you give birth to perpetuate our ideology’’, General Mosquito advised to loud cheers.

POLITICAL POWER:

The NDC Secretary tasked members to avoid in-fighting but to be united in preparing themselves for the battle ahead in 2020.

According to him, the abysmal performance of the NPP in power gives the party hope of capturing power in 2020.

The only thing, he reiterated would stop the NDC from gaining political power will be disunity.

Mr Nketiah said the party has about seven presidential aspirants and members had the right to belong to any camp of their choice.

‘’I know you all have favorites in the upcoming presidential primaries and as the General Secretary I urge you to support your choices but not to slander your opponents because after the elections we will need everybody in NDC  to go out to campaign to ensure we win the 2020 polls’’, the NDC scribe noted.

ENDORSEMENT:

Announcing their endorsement later, Gloria Huze, Ashanti Regional Women Organizer of the NDC stressed that the wing believes the party can best wrestle power from the NPP when John Maham is the flag-bearer.

The wing, she noted are therefore bent on casting their votes en bloc for John Mahama in the upcoming flag-bearer primaries.

The women’s organizer stated that they are resolutely committed to using the influences they have to getting their counterparts in other regions to endorse John Mahama as their choice for flag-bearer.

Flanked by the constituency and branch women organizers, Madam Huze rallied all party faithful to undertake decent campaign so as to remain united after the elections.
