The Director General at the Police Public Affairs Directorate, ACP David Eklu has assured the media that killers of Adams Suale, the slain Tiger Eye PI journalist will be found soon.

The Police administration, he revealed have contacted specialists who could use all evidences they have assembled to trace the faces of the perpetrators.

Addressing a cross section of media practitioners in the Kumasi metropolis, ACP Eklu noted everything was being done to unravel the identities of the killers of Mr Suale.

He commended the public for the widespread show of concern and noted that the volunteering of information about the journalist’s death would help the Police to break through with its investigations.

‘’The Police administration is very confident of finding the killers of Adams Suale and for now we are carrying out every investigations that would lead us into nailing the perpetrators’’, the DG stressed.

SUSPECTS:

The Director General disclosed Messers Kennedy Agyepong, MP for Assin North Kwesi Nyantakyi, former GFA President and Anas Aremeyaw Anars, journalist with Tiger Eye PI have all been asked to pen down their statements.

For now, the DG said the three are suspects and the Police administration is awaiting their responses and statements to continue with their investigations.

The Police administration, the DG mentioned are still keeping the six persons arrested in connection with the murder, adding they are also suspects.

The IGP and the Police top hierarchy, ACP Eklu stated are committed to unearthing everything around the murder of Adams Suale.

‘’For now we have advanced Police statement forms to the three suspects who are also known publicly, that is Messers Kennedy Agyepong, Kwesi Nyantakyi and Anas Aremeyaw Anars and we are hoping to receive their statements as soon as possible so we can carry on with our investigations’’, ACP Eklu stated.

MEDIA:

ACP Eklu asked the media to partner the police in making the society a safe and secure one.

The volunteering and sharing of information between the two bodies, the DG posited should be pursued at all costs.

With the provision of vital information from the media to the Police, the latter, ACP Eklu stressed would be able to nip crime in the bud.

He tasked the media to treat the Police as friendly partners and consciously share information to make their respective duties seamless.

‘’We are able to discharge our duties as best as you expect of us when we have the media helping with adequate and reliable information’’, ACP Eklu noted.

GJA CHAIRMAN:

Addressing the media later, Kingsley E. Hope, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) commended the Police PR Directorate for opening up to the media.

He, however, asked the Police for periodic briefings so that issues about crime, robbery and the general security of the metropolis could be discussed.

The chairman also urged the media to report accurately on all issues so they could distinguish themselves from the fake media.
