Ayeduase Primary and Akyawkrom MA JHS pupils have received brand new science kits to aid them in basic science tests in class.

At two brief ceremonies in both schools, officials of MTN presented about 280 pieces of the equipment to pupils in the selected schools.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer newspaper after the presentations, Senior Manager at MTN Northern Business District, Simon Amoh indicated the company’s desire to upscale the interest of pupils in the study of science.

This, he noted is one of the core values of MTN Foundation which sees education as the best pivot to drive human development.

 

DETAILS:

Mr Amoh noted the Foundation was carrying out similar donations to about 12 other schools across Ghana.

In all, he mentioned 14 schools are to benefit from the company’s largesse.

The donation of the science kits, he revealed is aimed at making the study of science enjoyable for pupils.

MTN, the Senior Manager observed is committed to reviewing the impact of the exercise and commence a phase two of same if results turn out positive.

 

HEADMASTER:

Mr Opoku Ofosuhene, headmaster of Akyawkrom JHS thanked MTN officials for the donation.

He said the kits will help the pupils to do light experiments in class.

Some of the things being taught in school, Mr Ofosuhene indicated required the practical demonstration of same.

This, he noted makes the pupils to better understand science than giving them raw notes and nothing else.
