Ghana News–MTN Mobile money subscriptions hit 11.6 million as at the end of 2017. This was a significant improvement on the 8.6 million subscriptions achieved in 2016.
MTN Corporate Services Executive; Sam Koranteng who revealed this in a meeting with editors of various media houses in the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions was excited at how MTN Mobile Money was improving the lives of customers everywhere in Ghana and driving financial inclusion.
The MTN Editors forum is an annual meeting with media editors during which information is giving on the performance of the company(MTN) and the company solicits feedback.
Issues of Mobile Money fraud, mobile money fees, network issues among others were raised by journalists at this year’s forum.
Customers were cautioned against buying preregistered SIM cards since it is illegal and can have serious negative implications on the user.
The need to be on the look out for fraudsters was also rehashed.
