The year is about to end and  many of us are using this time to set New Year’s resolutions and assess the success of 2020’s  goals.

I’m a big believer that you can still ring in the new year with a sense of calm and preparedness in order to tackle new goals and big dreams. A lot of us are motivated to change, but how do we make that change, and where do we start?
Don’t worry, I have got you covered to help you reset your life for the new year. You have to be aware of what needs to be changed. Be inspired to change and be committed to change.

I have with listed 5 Ways to reset your life for the new year, grab a cup of tea and your notebook or planner and let’s plan our 2021.

Process Your Year.
We will all agree that this year has been difficult on alot of us, some goals were met and some were not met, some of us experienced heartbreaks and some of us experienced new love, others lost their loved ones and some have experienced the birth of new life. Some people are dealing with depression and others are still struggling to come out of it.
Whatever you dealt with or you are dealing with, it is important you process your year and know what needs to be changed or maintained.
Take time and write down your achievements and failures, reflect on them and the lessons that came along with each situation.  Get ready to walk out of this year with a summary of every moment and an understanding of how they have shaped you as a person this year.
This will help you appreciate the direction your life has shifted or is heading to.

Adopt A Healthy Lifestyle.
This is the time to switch from bad habits to healthy habits.
Remember habits take time to become normal, so if something feels difficult at first, remember that it will soon become a routine plus don’t just jump in to it but take it slowly and a step at a time.
Here are some of my favorite health habits you can try practicing this new year, drink plenty of water to keep hydrated always, try and complete a book at least in two months, eat health foods and don’t forget to exercise twice every week or more if you can.
Well this is not the only healthy habits you can adopt this coming year. It takes time for new habits to stick, but once they do, they’re hard to break and eventually  they become second nature, and you may find it difficult to let them slide. Just try to be patient and enjoy the ride!

Forgive And Heal.
For me forgiving and healing go hand in hand, I believe you can only heal if you have forgiven and this is not only about others but yourself. You can truly forgive others only if you have forgiven yourself, which can be the hardest thing to do as a person.
This year, you may have said and did some things you’re not proud of, you’ve made mistakes, remember you are only human, please forgive yourself and others too.
Heal your heart from the pain of the past so it does not affect the present. If you truly believe the new year is a new start, you should forgive  and heal from all the pain.

Declutter Your Life.
This is the time to let go off all the things you don’t need or use again. Clutter can distract you, weigh you down and in general it invites chaos into your life.
Make time and get rid of the clutter in your life and maintaining things relatively clutter-free, you’ll reap the rewards of pleasing living areas, reduced stress, and a more organized and productive existence.
Start by decluttering your wardrobe or closet, your working  space, your gadgets and your social media pages.
Don’t underestimate the power of decluttering.

Set Your Goals.
Setting goals is very important for everyone and is even important if you set achievable goals.
Setting your goals is a powerful process for thinking about how you want your new year to be successful and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of the new year into reality.
To set your goals, first consider the things you want to achieve and write them down, make sure they are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound (SMART).
Don’t forget to cross off each one as you work through them.

Don’t just reset your life for the new year but for a new life.
Happy New Year.
