The Ghana Association of Writers (GAW)-Ashanti Region has called on communicators and functionaries of political parties to consider it a duty to reduce tensions and avoid conflict as the country approaches her next General Elections.

President of GAW-Ashanti region; Mr. Bernard Buachi, in a press statement also called on the Ghanaian public to be measured in their political discourse.

The forthcoming General Elections scheduled for December 7, 2020 seem to have generated a lot of heat as a result of suspicion, fallouts from the voters’ registration exercise as well as utterances from some major political players.

The Ghana Association of Writers (GAW)-Ashanti region is embarking on a peace campaign in which various media platforms are being used by members to remind the citizenry of the importance of peace.
