Pastor Mensa Otabil

The General Overseer of Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), Reverend Ransford Obeng says nobody in Ghana is best placed to inspire people to come out of challenges than Dr Mensa Otabil, the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC).

This, he noted is because the Central University Chancellor has gone through tough times himself and is now best placed to advice those who may be going through same in life.

Addressing the media in Kumasi ahead of this weekend’s three day spiritual empowerment program at CCC, Rev Obeng said every servant of God gets refined when he or she goes through tests or tough times.

According to him, God does not bring his own out of challenges worse off but better.

‘’As we start a new year everyone needs a sure word to go through the challenges that will come their way and we could ask for no better person as a church to inspire us than Dr Mensa Otabil, a man who has gone through tough times in life and is now better placed to advice, encourage and motivate all of us to persevere when those moments come’’, Rev Obeng passionately stressed.

PROPHECIES:

Reacting to the recent spate of prophecies, Reverend Obeng said anyone who gets a bad thing predicted about him does not need to panic but rather go to God in prayer about it.

Rev Obeng said God does not reveal to kill or destroy but does so to draw the attention of men about something palatable or unpalatable on the way.

Stressing further, the CCC leader narrated how a King in the Bible by name Hezekiah received 15 more years to his age even though an earlier prophecy by a servant of God had announced his impending death.

He said the panacea to turning something bad to good is to pray and to get to the source of Life, which is God Almighty.

‘’King Hezekiah prayed and God heard his plea of mercy and added 15 more years to his age even though a Prophet had predicted his death so there is no point fighting a prophet if he did not say good things about you’’, the CCC leader educated.

PONZI SCHEMES:

Sharing his views about the infamous Menzgold saga, Rev Obeng sympathized with those who may have lost funds in the now fraudulent enterprise.

He, however, asked Ghanaians to learn lessons from these infamous schemes so that they do not continue to suffer losses that may turn fatal in future.

According to the veteran preacher, every business that promises interest or profits more than 15% is questionable since such astronomical rates cannot be sustained in Ghana’s economy.

Rather, the CCC leader advised the public to invest in treasury bills which is controlled by the Government of Ghana so that their funds will be secured on a long term.

‘’When you go to invest your funds in treasury bills you are guaranteed of receiving same with better interests when you need your money back’’, Rev Obeng posited.
